Compare and contrast a tornado and a hurricane.
DIFFERENT:
Tornado: In a tornado you must take shelter in lower ground. A siren may sound to warn you that a tornado is coming. If there is a tornado you should curl up like a ball with your hands over your head.
Hurricane: In a hurricane you must take shelter at higher ground or in a shelter. Before you leave you should board up the windows, bring in objects from outside, and prepare your pets. It is important to evacuate the area to stay safe.
ALIKE:
To stay safe for tornadoes and hurricanes you should prepare a supply kit of food and water. The TV or radio will provide updated information BEFORE and DURING the storm. Once both storms have ended you may return home and check to see if anyone is hurt.
