What is the difference between a weSLICE 4000 and 4500?
4000 - round blade
4500 - involute
How does pressure for product search work?
The grippers first establish a baseline amperage while moving at Product search speed. Then the parameter uses this amperage, and the percentage you input to know when to close the grippers, in example, if it took 1amp to move at search speed, and you input 50%. At 1.5amps the grippers will stop and grab the product
Explain the difference between portion spacing and portion side spacing
Portion spacing is from front leading edge of one portion to front leading edge of the next in running direction.
Portion side spacing, is top edge to top edge, across running direction
Where can we find recent parameter changes
1. Program quick tab - display changes
2. Historization
3. open the configurator
200g
What are the two blade head types for round blades?
SK144 and HSK98
If a customer is slicing a fluffed portion, while achieving their desired weight, what parameter could be adjusted to increase slice thickness?
Slices per portion
What could be adjusted to stop wedge shaped slices
Down holder pressure.
What is the difference between test drives and test modules?
Test drives moves electrically controlled motors
Test modules moves pneumatically controlled devices.
A customer wants only portions between 200-250grams. Where do we set our rejections limits?
T02: 250.1
TU2:199.9
TO2 rejection: ON
Name the following abbreviations
CCA
WPR
CCU
CCA - automatic infeeder
WPR - weber picker robot
CCU - computer controlled unit
What three parameters effect transport speed
Idle cut, RPM, Transport Path
Increasing the value, infeed position, would move the portion up or down stream?
upstream
How do you lock a recipe, so only service can adjust save the program?
Turn on write protection
Set weight is for statistical values
What is the difference between the SLC and MLC lines?
Both lines have a slicer, CCU, weigher, CCE. However, the SLC replaces the marking conveyer with a rocker, and adds a Reject conveyer
Explain the 3 blade angles, and where to set them.
Blade cut start: set 5mm before the blade touches the first log. It is when the slicing process begins, product needs to be over the shear edge, and idle head pulled towards shear edge
Portion conveyer stop: set right before the first slice falls. It tells the portioning conveyer to stop right before receiving the first portion.
Idle cut start: set 5mm after completely slicing all logs, to account for blade wear. This is where the idle cut process begins.
334
What is clearing mode
It removed the product from the slicing throat and puts it back on the product bed.
Overweight control factor, positive change.
What is an idle cut? How is it done
It is the process between slicing, where the blade pulls away from the shear edge, or the product pulls backwards away from the shear edge. This allows the blade to free spin to give the previous portion time to leave the portioning conveyer
What are unregulated first portions, and how do we adjust them?
Unregulated first portions are the portions sliced before the weigher has a chance to weigh the first portion, they are sliced based on recipe slice thickness.
To adjust them on older machines, use product width inversely from the desired change. On new machines adjust slice thickness.
Name the 7 parameters that effect slice thickness
Product
- shape
-Height
-Width
Weight for each scale
Packages per scale
Slices per portion
Specific weight
What screen can I find both inputs and outputs?
Monitor under in/out testing
Why might you receive the error message "portion received too late?"
Portion or belt slippage causing portion tracking to be off. Generally caused by transport speed
