Is writing that is not poetry. It is written in sentences and paragraphs. It uses regular language and may contain dialogue. Examples include stories and newspaper and magazine articles
Prose
A pattern of rhyming words at the end of lines. It explains which lines rhyme. Letters are used to identify which is used. Matching letters indicate which lines rhyme.
Rhyme Scheme
Or a play is a piece of writing that is presented through the use of dialogue. It is almost always presented to an audience.
Drama
– a comparison of two unlike things or ideas that uses the word like of the word as.
Simile
a part of an act in a drama defined by the changing of characters.
Scene
a comparison that does not use the word like or the word as. It says that one thing is another thing
Metaphor
is a type of literature, or artistic writing, that attempts to stir a reader's imagination or emotions. The poet does this by carefully choosing and arranging language for its meaning, sound, and rhythm. Some poems, such as nursery rhymes, are simple and humorous.
Peotry
The words that are spoken by the characters in the drama/play.
Dialogue
a group of usually four or more lines which may have a certain length, meter, or rhyming scheme; creates a division in the poem. have a space between them which makes them easy to identify.
Stanza
– the repetition of an initial consonant sound
