A group of American settlers, led by Stephen Austin, set up a colony in Mexico. They call it Texas, and refer to themselves as Texans. The Mexican Army, led by General Santa Anna, surrounds 200 Texans at the Alamo and attacks them for 10 days straight. Sam Houston leads a group of Texans, yelling "Remember the Alamo!", and captures Santa Anna while defeating the Mexican Army. Texas became the Lone Star Republic and was its own country for 10 years. The United States annexes Texas and makes it the 28th state.
