What underground innovation was created to catch the wastewater that overflows when stormwater and sewage pipes mix during major storms?

CSO Storage Tanks - During intense rainfall, surging rainwater overflows the open-top pipes and mixes directly with wastewater. Instead of letting this polluted mixture dump straight into the harbour, it is diverted into the CSO tank. The tank holds the combined water safely until the storm passes, ensuring it is sent to the treatment facility to be fully cleaned.
