Where should students put their phones at the beginning of every class?
Phones should be 'parked' in the designated area in each class (hanging shoe organizer).
What will staff give out as they see students being respectful and responsible?
What counts for 'responsibility' on the Student Success Sheets?
Responsibility reflects ON TASK behaviors. It means participating in class and doing classwork in the classroom. We support the use of breaks when needed! But a "10" in responsibility means that a student was participating appropriately within the classroom for the whole period.

What happens if students violate the phone policy?
Phones will be handed in upon entry and kept until the end of the day.
What kinds of things are raffled off?
What does "on-task" look like and sound like?
Raising hands, commenting on discussion, working with a partner, etc.

Is FaceTime or any type of audio or video recording allowed at school?
NO. This is considered a violation of the FVDC phone policy.
Besides raffle tickets, are there other ways that I'm recognized for working hard and earning points?
Yes! For example, on Fridays, you can shop at our School Store - items will include soda, candy, snacks and more
Why do I have to fill out a daily check-in form?
There will be therapy dogs that visit the center

What is the appropriate time to put in ear buds or put on headphones?
ONLY when teachers have given explicit directions to do so (i.e., during independent work).
Do students need to earn all of their points to earn Pride time at the end of the day?
No. But students must be up to date on their work.
Can I go to the front office, get water or go to the bathroom whenever I want?
No. Students should always ask for permission before leaving class or the group.
If I am having a bad day, I can be honest with staff about what I need.
TRUE: Our goal is communication and appropriate self-advocacy. We can't always give you what you want ($1,000,000 - lol) but we will work together to get you what you need to get through a hard day.

Can students contact their parents directly to pick them up if they're having a bad day?
No. If you are struggling, speak with a trusted staff member and/or clinician.
If students have an idea of something cool to earn or work for, what should they do?
Tell any staff member! FVDC is always improving because of student feedback and ideas.
