Should I talk to my friends during class?
It's best to contact them personally through text or chat rather than in a large group of students.
When should I use the mute button in Zoom?
When your house is noisy with background sound or you have a phone call or your internet breaks up.
How many students should talk at one time?
Just one, please.
What should you do when parents or staff need to talk to you, or you receive a telephone call?
Use the mute button so you do not disturb the class or the instructor
Why do I need an email address?
My instructor must send me a Zoom link for the class meeting. They may need to send me other documents.
How can I talk to a new friend from my Zoom class?
You can share a phone number through Chat if you like.
Why do I see a waiting room when I join my Zoom class?
The waiting room in Zoom gives you a space to check your audio and video settings. Your teacher sees your name even if the meeting is not yet open.
How I can adjust my classmates' pictures during a share screen?
Use the buttons at the top of the photos.

Your instructor may use breakout rooms to create a smaller group for better instruction.
How do I use Google Chrome or Safari in a Zoom meeting?
On my iPad, click the home button twice, and then click on your browser button to do a search. On a laptop, minimize Zoom to find my browser.
What should you do with your cellphone during class?
Out of sight and muted so it doesn't disturb class
How should instructors treat students?
All students should be treated with kindness and respect.
What should I talk about with new friends?
General things, weather, sports, favorite hobbies, common interests, pets, travel, favorite vacations, video games. Make sure you introduce yourself.
How do I protect my privacy in Zoom classes?
Make sure you keep your personal information [address or birthday or private details] private.
How do I check my microphone and video so they are set right?
Check your picture for distractions in the background. Check your microphone for noises in your house.
What will protect my devices from computer viruses?
Antivirus software such as Norton, McAfee, or AVG.
