Can I edit the FAFSA after I submit it?
Yes, you can edit the FAFSA after you submit. In fact, you’re required to do so if there’s a change in your dependency status, in the number of your family members or in the number of people in your household who are in college.
You can also fix mistakes you made when filling out the form. To make corrections to the FAFSA, log in to your account and click on “Make FAFSA Corrections.” Enter your FSA ID, make any updates and then hit submit.
What are the different types of financial aid?
Financial aid packages are made up of a mix of grants, scholarships, student loans and work-study options.

SAP requirements have four parts:
Pace of Progression, Acceptable Grade Point Average, Maximum Time Frame, Other Provisions
What information do I need to apply for the FAFSA?
The FAFSA asks for personal and financial information. You’ll fill out your contact details, as well as your Social Security number or resident ID. You’ll also indicate up to 10 colleges to receive your FAFSA information.
You or your parents will also provide information from the prior year’s tax return.
I got an outside scholarship. Should I report it to the financial aid office?
Yes. If you are receiving any kind of financial aid from university or government sources, you must report the scholarship to the financial aid office.
Unfortunately, the university will adjust your financial aid package to compensate.
What happens if a student fails SAP?
If a student fails SAP, a SAP appeal requirement will be added to the student’s To Do List and an email communication will be sent with instructions on how to appeal.
Why should I file for the FAFSA even if I don’t think I’ll qualify for financial aid?
Filling it out will also protect you in the event your financial circumstances change. If a parent loses their income, for example, you can speak with your college’s financial aid office about readjusting your financial aid package. But you won’t qualify for federal aid if you never filled out the FAFSA in the first place.
If I withdraw from a class, do I have to repay my financial aid?
Sometimes: if a student withdraws from a class during add/drop period the Pell Grant will be adjusted based on the current enrollment. So if a student were paid at full time and dropped a class during add/drop period which brought their enrollment to half time; the student would be required to repay half of their Pell Grant.
After add/drop period or the census date, if a student withdraws with record from one or more classes but not all courses, no repayment is required. However, the student might not comply with Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards which could result in a warning or suspension status for future financial aid.
What happens if a student's SAP appeal is approved?
The student will be placed on an academic plan with the Financial Aid office and must receive C or better letter grades.
If the student fails their financial aid academic plan, they will no longer be eligible for financial aid unless they get back into good standing on their own or submit another SAP appeal and it is reviewed and approved.
