Unless acted on by an unbalanced force, objects move in straight lines. In order to move in circles, objects need an inward force called centripetal force. To make it through a loop, a roller coaster needs enough velocity so that normal force provides the centripetal force. To achieve this velocity, you can start the roller coaster up very high or give it an initial velocity.
Explain how a roller coaster is able to make a loop. Make sure to include normal force, centripetal force, and velocity in your explanation.
