Here Tomorrow uses this relationship-based approach, grounded in lived experience, to offer hope and support.
What is Peer Support?
This is the primary focus of Thrive.
"What is recovery and wellness? or What is building a life worth living?"
This program supports people who are concerned about or caring for a loved one experiencing suicidal thoughts or struggles.
"What is the Family Program?"
This personalized document identifies warning signs, coping strategies, supportive contacts, and ways to make the environment safer.
"What is A Safety Plan?"
This practice involves intentionally supporting your own physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
"What is self-care?"
These three primary programs make up Here Tomorrow's peer support model.
What are Crisis Stabilization, Thrive, and Family?
Thrive assesses satisfaction with these types of assets which, include housing, family, and finances and employment.
"What is recovery capital?"
This plan helps family members identify ways to improve safety, respond to crises, and support their loved one.
What is the Stabilization Support Plan?
This evidence-informed approach is the foundation for Here Tomorrow's Crisis Stabilization session structure.
"What is CAMS, Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality?"
What is self-care, and what are three ways to practice it?
"What is taking intentional breaks, spending time outdoors, practicing mindfulness, setting healthy boundaries, engaging in hobbies, connecting with supportive people, exercising, or getting adequate rest?"
This five-word phrase is Here Tomorrow's suicide prevention tagline.
What is “Preventing suicide one conversation at a time”?
This inventory helps friends identify personal qualities such as bravery, gratitude, flexibility, and perseverance.
"What is the Personal Strengths Inventory?"
During a Family Interim Session, these two areas are rated rather than all six initial assessment items.
"What are the family member's top-ranked support area and Confidence in My Skills?"
These six items are rated during the Crisis Stabilization Initial Session.
What are Psychological Pain, Stress, Agitation, Hopelessness, Self-Hate, and Overall Suicide Risk?
This skill allows a peer to care deeply for a friend while maintaining appropriate limits on their role, time, and responsibilities.
"What are healthy professional boundaries?"
This four-letter acronym organizes session documentation.
What is HOPE?
SMART stands for these five characteristics of an effective action step.
"What are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound?"
A family member rates Confidence in My Skills as 2, but experiences a crisis a doesn't use their plan. This is why the session does not count toward resolution.
"What is failure to use the plan during a crisis?"
These three conditions must be met for a Crisis Stabilization Interim to count toward resolution.
"What is an Overall Suicide Risk rating of 1 or 2, no suicidal behavior, and effective management of any suicidal thoughts or feelings?"
These personal signals, such as irritability, exhaustion, changes in sleep, or difficulty concentrating, can tell us it's time to pay attention to our needs.
"What are warning signs of stress or overwhelm?"
A friend declines Crisis Stabilization. This principle means the peer respects their decision while leaving the door open for future support.
"What is voluntary participation?"
Unlike Crisis Stabilization and Family, Thrive has no three-session resolution requirement. It uses this checkpoint and maximum program length.
"What are the three-month check-in and six-month program maximum?"
A family member has met the resolution requirements for three consecutive sessions. This document is completed, and these three types of next steps may be offered.
"What is the Family Final Outcome Disposition, with options to transition to Thrive, complete and close services, or receive referrals?"
During a call, a friend reports suicidal behavior currently in progress. These are the required immediate actions under Here Tomorrow's protocol.
"What are performing a wellness check and notifying the supervisor?"
In peer support work, caring for your own well-being helps you maintain these three qualities when supporting others.
"What are presence, empathy, and healthy boundaries?"
