The *Blank* Center for First-Generation Students is located on the second floor of the SSC that provides a comfortable place to study, meet with classmates and mentors, and relax between classes. It also offers free tutoring for certain classes as well!

What is the Pharmacy is located on the first floor of SSC and is super helpful in many ways! If you have a prescription you need to pick up, you can send to the pharmacy and pick it up from there (awesome for first year students living on campus!)! They accept prescriptions from the University Health Center and outside providers, over-the-counter medicines and medical products are also available (bandages, etc.), and they also have wellness vending machines at TDU and Festival have over-the-counter medicines and supplies.

The Yard houses plots (monuments) which represent Black, Latinx, and Asian-Interest fraternities and sororities within the Intercultural Greek Council. There are 13 organizations involved and each have emphasis on academic excellence, service to the community, advocacy, and brotherhood/sisterhood. Behind each monument there is a bench that is meant for the members of that organization. Each plot has a bench for their members to use. The benches are there for the members of this organization to have a place to relax and reflect. The Yard also hosts events like The Yard Show ,which is a presentation of all the multicultural greek organizations and each organization participates in a performance "Stomp The Yard," New Member Presentations (Ex. Crossing), Homecoming Tailgate and Cookout hosted by the Black Alumni Chapter, and SO MANY MORE!!

What is the University Health Center is designed to accommodate students with illnesses, injuries, and medical concerns. It is located on the second floor of the SSC and it is super helpful if you are living on campus and need to seek medical attention (pls call 911 if it is serious). The various resources it has is a nurse triage, medical appointments and specialties such as a GYN, allergy clinic, and nutrition services. Student fees also cover most of the costs! (Some immunizations or tests may be extra!!) something along these lines :)

What is CMSS is the Center for Multicultural Student Services (CMSS) and is located on the first floor of the SSC. They help develop awareness and educate the community about cultural diversity and building inclusive spaces. THIS OFFICE IS OPEN TO EVERYONE!!! They also support an inclusive community through DEEP impact dialogues, leadership experiences, and cultural celebrations that honor and value multicultural identities. CMSS oversees 47 JMU organizations, including 13 Intercultural Greek fraternities/sororities. SOGIE (Office of Sexual Orientation, Gender, and Identity Expression) offers opportunities for people in the LGBTQ+ community and allies a safe space to meet community, learn about identity and grow. CMSS and SOGIE each have lounges designated for students to study, meet, and build community.

What is the Office of Disability Services located on the first floor of SSC. This office provides students with SEEN and UNSEEN disabilities support in the academic setting with personalized accommodations. This can also include short-term (ex. you broke your arm and need a notetaker.) These may or may not include accommodations with exams/quizzes, media/technology, classroom setting as well! If you had/have accommodations in High School you can also get them here in college! They can also provide housing accommodations for students living on campus, and transportation (paratransit service). They consult faculty members and academic departments regarding accommodations and accessibility. ODS also develops educational programming and collaborates with campus partners to advocate for accessible learning environments that value diversity.

Math and Science operates on a first come first served basis, while you have to book an appointment ahead of time with the Writing Center. ITS FREE!!!!
