 Our bodies are natural material; made out of things from the earth like grains and fruits and vegetable.  Our bodies are able to break down natural foods into chemical components that give us energy and help our tissues and cells to function.

What does moderation mean when it comes to food?

Moderation means restraint within reasonable limits and refraining from excess (see D&C 59:20). Moderation is to avoid trying to fill emotional emptiness with food.  It simply means we should use good judgment.
