Winter Clothing
This piece of clothing might have buttons, is usually worn over a shirt, and might be made of wool.
What is a sweater?
This is done outside with 2 or 3 balls of snow.
What is build a snowman?
Some houses have these indoor boxes that need wood, matches, and a chimney for smoke.
What is a fireplace?
This large white bear lives in very, very cold places and loves to swim and eat fish.

This small white 'thing' falls from above when the weather is very cold. It's white and makes children very happy!

This is made in a cup/mug with milk and a sweet brown ingredient that comes from plants. Some people add marshmallows to the top!
What is hot cocoa? (or What is hot chocolate?)
This animal is black and white, waddles when it walks, loves to dive, and looks like it's wearing a tuxedo!

This is a severe snowstorm with high winds, fog, ice, and very low temperatures.
What is a blizzard?
This garment is made of something warm, but soft, and is usually very long so that it can be wrapped around a body part!
What is a scarf?
This activity is done in teams. The players wear warm, protective clothing and use sticks, skates, and pucks.
What is ice hockey?
This is a rectangle-shaped object made of a heavy (sometimes fuzzy) fabric/material.
What is a blanket?
This is the color an arctic fox's fur/hair turns to protect it from its predators/enemies in winter.
What is WHITE?
This happens when the temperature reaches 32 degrees F. or 0 degrees C.
What is a freeze? (or What is freezing?)
This piece of clothing is usually hidden (not seen by others), might be colorful, and might even have a hole or two!

This activity can only be done after a big snowstorm! You need a icy, snowy hill and strong piece of wood that glides!

This is what some wild animals [ex: bears, bats, fish, reptiles] do to stay warm in the winter months.
What is hibernation? (hibernating)
This black and white animal hibernates in the winter -- but in other seasons, it can be very stinky!

This instrument is used to measure the rise and fall action of the temperature.
What is a thermometer?
These come in pairs, might be fuzzy inside, and keep a specific part of your body dry and warm -- especially in the snow!

This is done after a "long" period of work, study, or school -- and people REALLY look forward to it!
What is winter vacation? (or winter holiday or winter break)
This can be found in cars, trucks, homes, schools, and many buildings. It is turned on when it gets cold!
What is a heater?
This type of deer is sometimes found in the Arctic forests of Canada, Alaska, Russia, Greenland, and Scandinavia. Some people believe they can fly!
What is a reindeer?
This is formed when rain freezes and might be called "ice pellets."
