What would you do if....

When should you schedule the next team meeting?

Per facilitation components, it is the last step completed. However, if you have people that cannot stay the entire time or scheduling has been a challenge, it is ok to do it earlier.

100

True or False... It is ok for youth and family peers to talk and/or pass notes during a CFT meeting.

True. Family and youth peers may need to provide support, check in, translate system language/acronyms, or other things. Setting up this expectation from the beginning will build understanding within the team of the unique functions of those roles.

100

What would you do if you could not get a call back from a system partner who is necessary on your CFT team?

There are many different strategies to take; the key is to emphasize engagement and finding a way to meet the system's need

100

Finish this statement....

Nothing about us, ...

Nothing about us, without us.

100

What is one needs statement that Carla might have?

1. Carla needs to have fun.

2. Carla needs to be safe.

3. Carla needs an education.

100

What is the IDEAL percentage of natural/informal supports versus formals supports that should be on a team?

75% natural/informal supports

25% formal supports

200

What are three types of activities you can do during introductions?

1. What is your favorite.... Animal, food, holiday, season, etc.

2. If you could be a... super hero, mythical creature, etc.

3. Two truths and a lie

4. The possibilities are ENDLESS

200

Can a family/youth peer attend an IEP meeting for a youth? Answer the question and come up with justification for why or why not.

Yes, a youth and/or family peer can attend an IEP depending on the function of the need. Does the parent need support and advocacy? Does the youth need help find their voice?

200

What would you do... If Carla or Debra became upset and left the meeting.

No one correct response; looking for taking a break, engaging in a safety plan strategy, providing support, etc...

200

What step might we have to prioritize after intake into WISe prior to beginning the phases?

Stabilize the immediate crisis

200

In your small group, create a short roleplay where you create ground rules for Carla's CFT meeting

Creates ground rules while avoiding "no" statements

200

How many service hours does WISe require in a month AND how many CFT meetings are required?

1. WISe says 10.5 hours is the MINIMUM necessary for intensive services, across all roles.

2. One CFT at minimum is required but consider doing more if medically necessary/in engagement.

300

Create a short role play with your team using Carla to practice going through the process of brainstorming and selecting strategies connected to this need:

"Carla needs an education"

Needs are not services! Creativity matters

300

Carla has natural supports that she wants to bring to the table. When she shares this, there are concerns that her friends are "bad influences". How do you respond? How might the family peer also support this?

Remember, so much of this is in preparation. Encouraging natural supports is important and if we bring the youth's peers to the table, it allows us to help shape that interaction in a positive way. Every role can support this occurring.

300

What would you do if... While constructing the family vision, Carla is voicing a vision that differs from her parents. The team is capturing her parents voice, but you notice that Carla's isn't being honored. How do you approach this challenge

(Individualized and youth voice)

Considering Carla's age and development, it is likely she may have a different family vision than her parents. Having two visions is ok. Preparing her for this (and her family peer with the family) prior to the CFT meeting would help with engagement and understanding.

300

What are the six phases of WISe?

1. Engagement

2. Assessing

3. Teaming

4. Service planning and implementation

5. Monitoring and adapting

6. Transition

300

Write an outcome statement for this need:

"Carla needs to be safe". Be sure to apply the SMART test

Example: Carla will follow all conditions of her probation starting today; Carla will attend school, be home on time, and inform Debra when she plans to go out with friends.

300

Besides providing therapy, what are three additional functions the WISe clinician may provide?

1. Attend CFT meetings. 2. Support Safety and Crisis planning. 3. (agency specific) provide crisis response.

and others...

400

What are five things a care coordinator might do OUTSIDE of the CFT meeting?

-Meet with the youth and/or family to assess needs and orient them to the WISe Process

-Check in on assigned action steps

-Coordinate needs and services

-Meet with system partners to orient them to the process and assess what they need

-Stay in communication

400

What would you do if... A family and youth state that they have no natural supports. What are some different ways you can approach that?

Language is important; how we talk about natural supports with families makes a difference. Have we explored digital natural supports? Are we meeting families where they are at and considering bringing supports into certain activities and not others? Who is already naturally supporting the youth and family?

400

What are the three things the WISe video calls out that make WISe different?

1. 24/7 crisis response

2. Intensive care coordination

3. Intensive services provided in the youth's home and community

400

Write a team mission statement for Carla. How will we know when we are done?

There's many variations but focus on what are the youth, family, and systems needing from Carla?

500

What are the 10 principles of WISe?

1. Family and youth voice and choice. 2. Individualized 3. Team Based 4. Home and Community Based 5.Strengths Based 6. Culturally relevant 7. Outcomes based. 8. Natural Supports. 9. Collaboration 10. Unconditional
