Students:
--Transition smoothly and without disruption.
--Use classroom space and resources efficiently to support their own learning and that of peers.
--Manage time and resources
--Engage in learning activities for the entire class period.
--Work both independently and cooperatively.
--Keep records of their own progress, behavior, and accomplishments.
--Student led conferences
--Monitor their behavior with teacher guidance, adjusting behavior when appropriate to support learning.

What does 'use closed requests' mean?
Requests prefaced with 'Thank you' have a marked effect on how the request is received. Leaves no 'hook' to hold onto and argue with.

What does a Paraprofessional do?
Paraprofessionals are employed to be instructional assistants for students. Their time must be spent in direct instruction with students, NOT COMPLETING CLERICAL TASKS. Paraprofessionals may provide follow-up activities but are not responsible for primary instruction.

What is the procedure for student medications, injuries, and/ or first aid?
Only designated personnel (School Nurse) or designee are allowed to administer prescription medication to students.
If a student suffers a slight injury, the student should be sent with a NOTE or escorted to the clinic for first aid.
In the event of a serious injury, send for the Principal or AP immediately and DO NOT MOVE THE CHILD.
