What does a Paraprofessional do?

Paraprofessionals are employed to be instructional assistants for students. Their time must be spent in direct instruction with students, NOT COMPLETING CLERICAL TASKS.  Paraprofessionals may provide follow-up activities but are not responsible for primary instruction.

What is the procedure for student medications, injuries, and/ or first aid?

Only designated personnel (School Nurse) or designee are allowed to administer prescription medication to students. 

If a student suffers a slight injury, the student should be sent with a NOTE or escorted to the clinic for first aid.
In the event of a serious injury, send for the Principal or AP immediately and DO NOT MOVE THE CHILD.
