I live in creeks or streams in Eastern Australia. I am a funny looking animal. When the first explorers and settlers saw me, they thought I was a made up animal. I have fur, webbed feet and if I am a male, I will have a poisonous spur.

I am an amphibian. I am usually a nice natural colour, like you see on leaves. I lay eggs in water and my young hatch in water. When they grow and change they come onto land. You can hear them after rain.
