What can Financial Aid help you with?

Financial Aid provides information on student aid eligibility, types of aid available, and their staff can assist you in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) or answer any questions along the way, and update your aid based on funding and scholarships.

What activities can you do at the Wellness Center?

The Wellness Center has drop-in classes, a well-equipped strength and conditioning room, a running track, and a gym for playing basketball or volleyball. Also for credit and non-credit continuing ed classes like yoga!

What is the difference between a Counselor and an Advisor?

Counselors are trained mental health professionals can provide support in figuring out career interests, managing stressors, providing and exploring study skills, and navigating various personal life challenges and concerns that may impact personal and academic performance. 

Advisors are skilled members of you support network who specialize in helping you explore and select programs of study, arrange your classes and schedule, and help see you to and through graduation.

What majors does LSAMP focus on supporting?

Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) is a National Science Foundation funded program whose purpose is to strengthen the preparation, representation, and success of historically underrepresented students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) majors.

What sorts of events do Student Leadership provide for the campus?

Student leadership helps plan campus wide events like the club fair, and they also plan activities like Spring Fest games before finals, or sponsor guest performers to campus for events like Black history month or Lunar New Year.

Handshake is a NSC job board specifically for jobs looking to hire college students! We have a career services center that helps with resumes, job searches, and getting you signed up for Handshake too.

What does AANAPISI stand for?

Asian American, and Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institution (AANAPISI) is a 5-year federally funded program that seeks to increase student success outcomes and create a stronger sense of belonging by implementing culturally responsive-sustaining programing and providing holistic student support services, in order to expand the college's capacity to serve Asian and Pacific Islander (A&PI) students and the larger North Seattle College Community.

Where is the free food pantry?

The food pantry is open on Tuesday afternoons. It is located in our parking garage and is open to everyone- students and community members. You can also volunteer there!
