How did F.D.R help during the depression
Roosevelt closed all banks for several days until Congress could pass reform legislation. He also began holding open press conferences and giving regular national radio addresses in which he spoke directly to the American people.("fireside chats" would go a long way toward restoring public confidence and preventing harmful bank runs." After passage of the Emergency Banking Relief Act, three out of every four banks were open within a week. Also enacted the New Deal.

How did the president Hoover try to help the country get out of the Great Depression?
The Reconstruction Finance Corporation (RFC) (1932) provided railroads, banks, and other financial institutions with money for loans. The Glass-Steagall Act (1932) made getting commercial credit easier and released $750 million in gold reserves for additional business loans. The Emergency Relief and Construction Act (1932) provided funds to the RFC to make loans for relief to the states and included additional money for local, state, and federal public works projects.
