Robin is making eggs. According to Lara's recipe, he needs to boil them for exactly nine minutes. All he has at his disposal is a pot, water, eggs, a stove, and two sand-glasses of different capacities—one for four minutes, and one for seven. How can he use these sand-glasses to make sure that his recipe comes out perfect?

Robin should start both sand-glasses simultaneously. When the four minute one runs out, he should restart it. The seven timer will be at 4/7. He should let the seven minute timer run out and the second 4 min timer will be at 3/4. He should flip the seven and let it run until the four minute gets to 4/4 which will be 1/7. Then flip the 7 again and let it run out. The total time will be two 4's and the 1/7 to make 9.
