Who should remove bars from the instruments?
Mr. P!
What will happen if the bars are played too hard?
They will fall off. (If this happens, raise your hand!)
When is it okay to play our instrument?
When Mr. P says we can.
Where should the bars on the instruments go?
Exactly where they were.
Why is there only 1 person who can remove bars from our instruments?
They are very expensive and hard to fix.
What will Mr. P say to get us in the rest position?
Teacher: "Shoulder Holders!" Students: "Shoulder Holders!"
When is it okay to play whatever you want?
Usually, never, but Mr. P will occasionally give you the opportunity to have free time on your instrument.
Where do we put our mallets when we're done?
Where you found them.
Why shouldn't we try to put the bars on ourselves?
Because they break easily and are expensive/hard to repair.
What do we do when Mr. P says, "Shoulder holders!"?
Mallets on shoulders, voice level 0, eyes on the teacher.
Where do we hit the bars? Top, middle, or bottom?
Why do we sit with good posture? (criss-cross/kneel behind)
Because lying down will make it harder to play for ourselves and others.
What steps do we take to hold mallets correctly?
Pinch the handles between our pointer fingers and thumbs, and wrap the other fingers around.
Where should we keep our mallets when in the rest position?
Our shoulders!
Why don't we touch the bars we aren't playing that day?
Mr. P has them flipped up for a reason. Fewer bars make it easier to play!
Where do our pointer fingers go when holding mallets?
Tucked away. (No worms, please!)
Why shouldn't the bars be forced on?
The pegs break easily and are expensive/hard to fix.
