When do you pay for rent?

First week of the month (if you didn't receive full participation for that week, rent is paid the next week you receive full participation credit). If you are not in program housing, you do not have to pay rent.

What is the consent to search policy of YCAPP?

Staff will search a client's person or belongings upon suspicion or evidence of contraband. Housing manager also can search upon suspicion or evidence of contraband if a client is in program housing.

What time is our afternoon group? When does group start?

12-4pm (soon to be changing!!); we start at 12:05pm (might change depending on when you arrive to the office). The group gets 15 minute breaks every hour.

How much token do you get for a negative urine screen?

What is the rule about drinks and eating in the group room?

Only water in group (clear bottles preferred). Save open containers and food for the break room. No gum, mints, hard candy, or cough drops while in group.

What is our tardiness policy?

You are considered late after scheduled start time. Each member gets ONE "late pass" where they can arrive up to 15 minutes late and still be considered on time. This is a one time deal! Anytime afterwards, if you are late you will not be eligible for token economy.

How do you get $50 token economy at the end of each week?

1. attend all groups Monday-Thursday 12 to 4pm

2. submit 2 completed 12 step worksheets on Mondays at the start of group

3. don't get removed from group for whatever reason

What three tests do all YCAPP members complete each week?

Drug Screening, Breathalyzers, and COVID Tests.

What is the difference between assertive, passive, and aggressive communication?

Assertive communication is when you are direct and respectful in what you are trying to communicate. You are actively listening to the other party and problem solving.

Passive communication is when you are not direct in what you need. Your needs are often not met when communicating and it could lead to feeling frustrated.

Aggressive communication is when you are raising your voice, interrupting others, and not respecting other people. There is no attempt to problem solve.

What is YCAPP's zero tolerance policy?

Most zero tolerance policy violations would result in potential removal from the program and may deem clients ineligible to return for services. These violations include: 

1. violence or direct threats of violence towards staff or other clients 

2. bringing drugs, alcohol, or other contraband (including weapons) onto the property

3. using or selling while on the property

4. tampering with drug screening

What makes a good 12 step worksheet? What happens if a member submits a worksheet with 1-2 word answers?

A quality worksheet has to show that thought was put into each question! Counselor can decide whether a worksheet will be accepted based off the quality of answers.

What happens if you don't bring in your 12 step worksheets at the start of group on Monday?

You have one pass where you can bring it in on Tuesday. After that pass, you are not eligible for token economy.

Why would members be removed from group?

1. being disruptive or argumentative

2. consistently falling asleep

3. not being willing to participate

4. being intoxicated

5. using your phone in group

What should you do if you have COVID-19 symptoms?

Tell your Counselor immediately and get tested.

What is the YCAPP dress code?

Make sure you cover yourselves, no inappropriately revealing clothing, no sunglasses. No clothing or jewelry with profane language. No shoes off in the group room! 

No earpieces while in group, unless previously approved by Counselor.

What happens if there is conflict in group?

Address it immediately! Use "I statements" to express your concern. Remain respectful to all group members.

When do clients go into a lower level of care or a higher level of care?

This is based off progress with each client's treatment. Factors that go into assessing progress include: participation and engagement in the program, negative urine screens, developing additional supports and coping skills.

What is the difference between an excused and an unexcused absence?

Excused absence is when you have a note stating where you were when group was happening

Unexcused absences are any other kind of absence. If you have a lot of absences you might lose housing! Losing housing DOES NOT mean that you are out of the program!

What should you do if you have to call out of group?

Notify your Counselor before the start of scheduled group. It is your responsibility to contact your Counselor directly!

What is a working group?

A working group is when members are able to provide feedback to each other, challenge each other in a caring way, being consistently engaging and staying on topic.

What happens if a group member comes in late from break?

Breaks are meant to allow time for bathroom, food, smoking breaks and phone calls. Members should come back from break on time. Members should not be regularly leaving while group is in session (that's what the break is for!). The member has to request to be allowed back in group. It is up to the Counselor and the group members' discretion whether the late member is allowed to return.
