What steps should be followed when a child is not in their assigned bed and is using the restroom? 

Knock on the door to verify that the child is in the restroom. If there is no verbal confirmation of the child's presence, the Youth Care Worker must request assistance from any available YCW, Rover, Floater, SS, SL, or ASL. Verification is complete once the child responds with a verbal answer.

1. Child determined to be a run risk. 

2. Child who has not completed all initial assessments 

3.Children whose identity has not yet been verified by the care provider (e.g., birth certificate not yet received, or authenticity of birth certificate or other identity documents in question) 

4. Children with behavior in the last forty-eight (48) hours that, if done in public, would draw unnecessary attention to all children at the outing or be deemed unsafe or aggressive. 

 Behaviors include but are not limited to the following: 

 Being disrespectful to staff and other children in care (i.e., yelling, walking away from, using vulgarity, etc.) 

 Disobeying staff instructions 

Being disruptive (i.e., verbal or physical aggression, not following program schedule, intimidating, or bullying).
