Consecrated
Comes from the Greek word diakonia meaning ‘service’. Deacons are called to serve the Church through a ministry of liturgy, word and charity. They do this by assisting a bishop or priest with his responsibility of teaching, sanctifying and governing the Church.
Deacon
One who has inherited the spiritual gifts and responsibilities that Jesus first gave the Apostles, through apostolic succession.
Bishop
These people were given the spiritual gifts and responsibilities needed to lead their fellow Christians.
Apostles
Women and men who live their lives dedicated to God to give witness to the holiness of the Church. They publicly promise, or make a confession of vows, to live a life of gospel chastity, poverty and obedience in the service of God’s people.
