Will my CCP credits transfer?
All credits transfer from Ohio public institutions. How your credits apply to your degree is what we can help you understand when we get your transcript.
Do I have to come to orientation?
Yes.
Can I submit my final transcript for an adjustment on my UFAS?
No. The deadline for updated credentials was February 20th.
When can I pick my room?
May 6-9 is housing selection. You will get your housing selection date and time on May 2nd if you made your initial payment or had a deferral by May 1.
Can I defer my enrollment to spring?
BGSU does not defer enrollment. If you want to come for a different term, you can submit a new application for admission through the same account you created when you first applied.
How do my CCP credits transfer?
You can use transferology (free account) and the transfer equivalency system on our website to see how your credits transfer in towards your degree. Once we have your transcript, we can make an official evaluation.
Do I have to take the math placement test?
You will receive an email with instructions on whether to take the math placement test or not. This is based on a test score you maybe submitted. Anyone can take the math placement test if they want. Please contact the math placement test coordinator, Michelle.
What do I need to do to accept my financial aid?
For scholarships and grants, there is nothing you need to do unless we email you otherwise. Some scholarships have acceptance forms or may be on a waitlist now.
For loans, you will need to complete the master promissory note and entrance loan counseling. We will be sure to share those details when available.
How do I room with my friend?
You can create an RSG within the housing application. You can send your friend a request by entering their ID number. They have 2 weeks to answer and, once they confirm, you as the group leader will need to verify the group. Once you are paired, you will get the same selection time on May 6-9.
My family's financial situation totally changed this year? How does FAFSA take that into account?
It doesn't, but you can submit a SCAP (special consideration form) to our financial aid office. They will ask for some supporting documentation and see if the change could affect the aid you get for this year at BGSU.
How and when do I send my CCP transcript?
You will send a transcript from every institution you have credit from. I recommend sending a transcript once you have completed all of your credits at the said school.
BONUS 100 PTS: Advise the student to bring an unofficial transcript from institutions to their orientation just in case we do not have official in time.
Do I have to take the writing placement test?
Unless you have already received Comp I credit or a 3+ on AP English Lit, you need to complete the writing placement test 2 weeks prior to your orientation.
Parent: How do I get the Parent Plus Loan?
You can apply for the loan starting later this month. The application does a credit check and you can apply for up to the amount offered (you may not need it all to cover the bill from BGSU). Repayment for fall would start after Halloween.

I have a chronic health condition and need accommodations for living... what do I do?
Fill out the Specialized Housing Accommodations form by May 31st. You can contact accessibility services if you have any questions.
I am going to community college... I can't afford BGSU. Can I transfer in the future?
Yes! You can reapply as a transfer student for the term that you want to end up transferring. Depending on your major and any CCP credit, you may have 1-2 years you can complete at a community college.

I am a BGSU CCP student... what are the perks of continuing at BGSU instead of choosing another school?
You get early class registration.
You don't have to worry about transferring your credits.
You already are familiar with systems and processes at BGSU.
Do I have to complete the things on the checklist in my MyBGSU account?
Yes. These are essential to make sure that you have your financial aid and are set for the fall. Do you mind sharing what is on your checklist? There are normally offices to contact with specific questions or forms needed.
I got a scholarship from my high school. How do I send that to BGSU?
If it is a check written out to you, you can use that yourself to pay your bill.
If they are going to send it to BGSU, they can send it to our Bursar's office. Checks must be cosigned and include the student name & ID number.
How do I change my meal plan?
You can complete the meal plan change form on our website or contact dining directly.
I am actually in a learning community? When do I pick my room?
April 9th is the deadline to be enrolled in a learning community. April 16th, you will get your selection time for April 21-23 to pick from within the rooms for that community.
I am scheduling my CCP classes for next year... what should I take?
We have some guides for certain majors to help you decide what to take. What are you planning to major in? I can also share our graduation plan for that major and show you our transfer equivalency guides.
Do I have to submit my final transcript?
We do need a final transcript to process your financial aid, but your school counselor will send them all to us via a list we give them towards the end of the school year. They will send them to us then, and if we do not get it, we will reach out later in the summer to let you know.
Why is my financial aid package showing that I owe more than you told me my bill was going to be?
You financial aid package shows Cost of Attendance which accounts for things you may already be budgeting for like personal and travel expenses. This is federally required for us to provide. The actual bill from BGSU will come out in July for tuition, fees, room, and food.

What if I want to change my room?
Room change requests will open on May 19th until August 4th. Housing will work through waitlists once you add yourself and contact you if something opens up. If you have a roommate, they need to go through the process as well, but nothing is guaranteed. You have to decide what is more important... living together or the building you live in.
I missed all the orientation dates? Is there one more? When?
Yes, we have a final orientation before classes start on Wednesday August 20th!
