You might call it a calm down space, calming corner, or take a break space. This area should have a soft landing, as well as visual cues to allow them to focus on their calm down skills. This can include breathing exercises cards, social emotional books, sensory fidgets, and other calm activities.

-Let us know at least two hours ahead of time to allow us time to find coverage for your shift. This means you need to call out by 11:30am for a 1:30pm shift, or 9:30am on an early release day.
-You'll need to email your Site Coordinator AND Sabrina.
-To account for all of your scheduled hours, you are required to request the appropriate time off in Paycom for your missed shift.

It's in the middle of January and your group has snack in 20 mins. Your group has been outside playing basketball at the hot top for a while, and it's almost time to go inside. A child begins interrupting the game and continues to ask when they get to go to the gym, and grows frustrated when you remind them about the schedule. How could you help meet this child's need?
Maybe the child is feeling cold, or hungry, or is getting bored of basketball. We could try to:
-give a 5 minute warning for a smooth transition
-have a quick snack available
-offer them a different outside activity
-use a visual schedule to review what's up next
