What is the the Policy For Physical violence for ALL Interns?

Raising Expectations maintains a zero-tolerance policy for physical violence. If an intern physically attacks an R.E. staff member, fellow intern, volunteer, or partner:

  • The intern will be immediately relieved of their work duties for the day.
  • A mandatory parent or guardian meeting will be scheduled.
  • The intern may be dismissed from YouthWORK and may lose the right to earn further wages.

What is the begin and end time for Digital Navigator Interns?

(What time does the workday start and end?)

Digital Navigator Interns begin the workday at 10:00 AM, and end the workday at 6:30 PM (Unless otherwise specified by supervisor or HR.)

How many infractions can an Intern receive throughout the summer before being relieved from ?

FOUR:

1. First Infraction:Verbal Warning #1 issued by the supervisor with clear explanation of the violation. Documentation of the warning is placed in the intern’s file.

2. Second Infraction: Verbal Warning #2 issued. A brief written reflection may be requested to document the intern’s understanding of the behavior and how they will correct it.

3. Third Infraction: Written Warning issued by the supervisor. Parent/guardian will be notified. The intern will be informed that one more infraction may result in dismissal.

Fourth Infraction:Referral to Human Resources:

  • YouthWORK Interns will be referred to Terese Lackley (Director of Programs)
  • Digital Navigators will be referred to Faith Porter (Director of Operations)

– A formal disciplinary meeting will be held to determine next steps, which may include:

  • Program dismissal/Loss of wages
  • Suspension from specific events or responsibilities
