• If the buboes burst people often survived. So they thought you could cure it by popping the buboes yourself. • Put a frog’s belly on the sores, until the frog bursts. Keep doing this with different frogs until they stop bursting. • Put chicken bottoms on the buboes • Put leeches on the plague sores (buboes) • Soften the sores with cooked onions and figs and them cut them open

• The feudal system became weaker • Serfs were not afraid of the lords anymore – because they had survived the black death and think that nothing can hurt them anymore. • A lot serfs became freemen – they left the land they were tied to – they rented their own land and often got paid jobs. • Price of land went down • Price of rent went down (So, lords were getting less rent coming in) • Wages and cost of labour went up. (So, lords had to pay higher wages) • Population decreased. • Many villages were deserted. • Many lords had to work the land themselves. • There were not enough workers

• He should control his temper. • He punished himself – therefore he believed he was guilty – so maybe he was • He wanted to control the church and that was not his right • He needs to be careful what he says when others are listening.
