A student moves in from out of state with an eligibility criteria that is not recognized in California. The student is in an interim placement. What needs to be done?
A full evaluation must be completed by student’s interim placement team and to include the school psychologist
Preschool Assessment report must be completed
Review and take data on current IEP goals to ensure goals are appropriate or need to be modified
Contact the family and set up a date for the interim placement within 30 days
Who can receive transportation in preschool?
Only students whose disabilities and/or behaviors significantly impact his/her ability to get to and from school in same manner as same aged peers
This is the action a parent can take if they disagree with an evaluation conducted by the school

Parents must be notified at least 24 hours in advance
The service provider must contact the family and review their portions of the IEP
The excusal form MUST have been completed ahead of time with the service provider's information. This must be signed by the parents AND ADMINISTRATOR before the person can be excused from a meeting.
