What are manners?
A proper or polite way to behave. Polite behaviors and words that show respect for others.
What are actions? What are consequences?
Your actions are things you are in control of. Actions are the choices of things that we do.
Consequences are a result of our actions or choices.
What is integrity?
Doing the right thing even when no one is watching.
What does kindness mean?
Being caring, respectful, and considerate to others.
What does it mean to be helpful?
Doing things to support or assist others.
When do you use manners?
When talking to others, asking for something, entering a room, or needing help. Pretty much all of the time.
What is a consequence if you stay up all night?
Feeling tired, having trouble focusing, or being grumpy the next day.
How do you show integrity at home?
Telling the truth, doing chores without being reminded, or admitting mistakes.
What are three ways to show kindness?
Examples: helping someone, using kind words, sharing, including others....

People will trust me and want to work with me.
What is a consequence if you are absent from school?
Missing information, needing to make up work, falling behind, not seeing your friends.

Being honest, following rules, doing your own work, admitting mistakes....

Examples: teacher, friends, classmates, family
What can be the outcome of helping others?
People feel supported, problems get solved, stronger connections
What would happen if you never used your manners?
People would feel disrespected, conflicts would increase, communication would be hard, you would not make many friends.

What is a bucket filler and a bucket dipper?
A bucket filler makes others feel good; a bucket dipper hurts others feelings.

It builds trust, helps others succeed, and creates a positive environment.

Wait respectfully (quiet and in your space), raise your hand or say "excuse me" and explain calmly.
What is a consequence of not listening to your teacher?
Examples: not earning all of your points, missing instructions, falling behind, feeling embarrassed when you do not understand later.
Mr. Chris lets you use the restroom by yourself in the morning without following you to make sure you are responsible. How could you show integrity?
Go straight to the restroom, be responsible, and return to class promptly.
Why is it important to show kindness?
It strengthens relationships, makes everyone feel safe, and helps grow a respectful environment.
