in high school I asked my mom if I should apply for testing accommodations for my ADHD. How did she respond?

She said no, bc in the real world you don't get more time than others and you should be able to function as a normal person. 

That same year she encouraged by brother to get testing accommodations for his ADHD bc he shouldn't be expected to do the same quality of work in the same amount of time as people without learning disorders.
