What happened to King Saul?

1 Sam 31 - chapter heading, & v 4-6.

King Saul was at war with the Philistines.  They defeated the Israelites.  Saul's 3 sons had been killed.  Saul asked his armourbearer to kill him, who said no.  Saul fell upon his sword and died.

Who was David?


He was the son of Jesse of the tribe of Judah.

He slew Goliath (a Philistine/enemy of the Israelites).

He became King of Judah after Saul, and united all tribes of Israel.  His reign is recognized as a "golden age" of Israel...and serves as a type for when the Savior comes again.
