A cheese pizza costs $6.99. Each additional topping costs $0.75.  How much does a mushroom and pepper pizza cost?
$8.49

What is 'b' in the equation y = 4x + 11
b = 11

Netflix is now charging a one-time membership fee to its customers, in addition to the monthly rate of $9.99.  After the second month, the total cost of having a Netflix membership is $55.97.   What is the slope and y intercept in this situation if you modeled it with 'y' as the total cost and 'x' as the number of months using Netflix?
slope = $9.99 per month

y intercept = $35.99

A hamburger at HamBeezy's costs $1.78.  The cost of a cheeseburger is $2.06.  Knowing this, what would be the cost of a cheeseburger with 5 slices of cheese?
$3.18

Find the y intercept, provided the table of the linear function below:

(3, 9.5)

(5, 15.5)

(10, 30.5)

b = 0.5

The country of Taxmania has an unusual way to charge sales tax.  It's always the same dollar amount, no matter how much you spend. As a tourist there, I bought some scarves.  I purchased two for myself at a total cost of $49.50 (including the tax).  Because I loved the scarves so much, I bought three more for my friends.  The total cost of the three scarves was $71.50 (including the tax).   How much does each scarf cost?  How much is the tax? How can you write this as a linear equation, using y for total cost and x for the number of scarves?
the tax is $5.50

the price per scarf is $22

and the equation for the total cost of any number of scarves is y = 22x+5.5

Find the y intercept for the line that cross the two points, (9,10) and (1, 2)
b = 1
500

Write an equation in slope-intercept form.

y = (-2/3)x + 2.5

Ayda doesn't remember how much she was charged for the initiation fee at her gym.  Luckily, she finds old bills.  After the 4th month at the gym, she had spent a total of $311 at this gym.  After the 9th month, she had spent a total of $551.  Find the monthly rate and then find the initiation fee.  Then, write an equation that represents the total cost of a gym membership of any number of months.

monthly rate = $48

initation fee = $119

y = 119 + 48x

Find the slope intercept for the line that crosses the following points:  (9, 10) and (1, 2)
b = 7/8
