How has past gender biasing affected the number of females who go into STEM professions (including being a STEM teacher) and males who go into certain professions (such as me being a third grade teacher)? 2. AND--Who (besides a pro athlete) do most middle school males want to be like in terms of jobs?
1. This relates to stereotypes of what males and females "should do." Think back to sports. Girls used to be considered "tomboys" if they played sports. Now, that bias is disappearing. We have professions, though, that are still "dominated" by one gender (we have never had a female President).
2. Most boys say they want to do the same job as their father.
