David became the next king after Saul died. Saul started out as a good king, but began to love power more than God. His son, Jonathan should have inherited his father's throne, but his best friend, David, was anointed by Samuel, the prophet, instead. Jonathan showed no signs of jealousy. David and Jonathan's friendship shows us how to be true friends.  How? What does it mean to be a true friend?

Jonathan helps hide David from Saul, Jonathan's father. David later takes care of Jonathan. Jonathan and David made a covenant of peace and friendship to last through their descendants forever.

True friendship creates a bond of love. It causes people to care as much for others as they do themselves. The best way to have a friend is to be a friend.

It is good to be physically strong, but more important to be spiritually strong so you do not give in to temptations, to not sin.  You need to be guided by the Holy Ghost in this life, fulfill your callings, and help bless others.

When Moses came down from the Mount, he saw the children of Israel sinning. He broke the tablets of stone. Why?

Why is it important to pay 1/10 of our interest annually as an honest tithe?

Those who are tithed shall not burn at the Second Coming. The Lord has prepared great things for those who love him.  Blessings come in unexpected ways and may not always be recognized at first. We must continue to be faithful and recognize and give thanks for the blessings we have already received.
