It is the coalescence of metropolitan areas at a regional scale with transportation connecting these areas.

It is either the visible or invisible manifestations of the thoughts, deeds and actions that give a glue to the economic, cultural, political and environmental values of the people that created them.

The population of a given city should be equal to the country’s largest city divided by its rank.

A 20th century phenomenon where cities were comprehensively planned and built from scratch with the aim of making them as self-contained as possible.

A product of 20th century automobile-centric development with an intermediate population density, landscape dominated by trees, grassy yards.
