What are the different family roles?


**Think of the different characters in the show shameless.**

Hero- does not speak of family issues, and distracts from focusing on family problems.

Enabler- Usually an older child takes on the the responsibility of taking care of the family and making sure they have what they need.

Clown- Uses humor to deflect what they are really feeling, and tries to bring the family spirits up.

Scapegoat- the person that always takes the fall or the blame for everything because of their behavior of being defiant and misbehaving. They have trouble with authority figures.

Lost Child- this person is isolated and forgotten. They have a hard time developing relationships and are often times not good in social settings. They are fictional to distract themselves from negative family environments.

Action- You are in therapy, treatment, or doing things that are changing you into the person you want to be.

Maintanence- Sticking with a routine that exhibits and continues reinforcing that change you want.

False- the amount is for group therapy, seeing a counselor 4 times a month, seeing a doctor once a month, and providing UDS screens.

Once you have paid, provided a UDS, and attended group your script can officially be released to pick up.

Methadone--> fully attaches and you get full effects.

Suboxone--> partially attaches, gives some effect, but also blocks.

False- Inpatient, outpatient, detox, 12-step, individual therapy, and group therapy.

It depends on the individual, where you are at in your life, and what you are ready to do/change.
