The most important or main idea of a paragraph or larger section of text, which tells the reader what the text is about.

A warning or an indication of a future event

When the character remembers something significant from the past

When the opposite occurs of what is expected

A conversation between two or more people in a novel, short story, movie
What is dialogue?
A comparison of two things using like or as
What is a simile?
A figure of speech with a comparison between two unlike things without using like or as
What is a metaphor?
One line of a poem
What is a verse?
A paragraph in poem
What is a stanza?
The occurrence of the same letter sound at the beginning of closely connected words
What is alliteration?
Prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair.

A reason or intent the author wrote something.

This could be to entertain, to persuade, or to inform.
