There will be an American Red Cross event on October 22, sisters spread awareness about this on social media and some sisters will donate blood.

What is the goal of Kappa Phi Lambda's national philanthropy? 

C.A.R.E works to fight global poverty and serves individuals and families of the poorest communities in the world. They place a special emphasis alongside poor women.

What is the mission of Alpha Chapter's local philanthropy? 

Willow's Wings aims to care for animals that have been neglected, abandoned, or mistreated. This animal sanctuary treats animals of all different sizes.

What are some non-food fundraisers that have been created in the past? 

Dodgeball/volleyball tournaments, Valentine's Day card delivery.

What are the requirements of a philanthropic event?

The event must have 100% active attendance unless a sister has class of work.

Minimum of one event per semester.

What are some past successful community service events?

Past successful community service events include American Red Cross blood drive, volunteering at Willow's Wings, Roberson Museum, Project Paw, boys and girls club, YWCA, and late nite.

What are some specific ways one can contribute to Kappa Phi Lambda's national philanthropy? 

Kappa Phi Lambda often hold events that directly involve CARE, such as Letters of Hope, in which students stand in solidarity with refugees through meaningful letter exchange.

What are some ways that one can contribute to Alpha Chapter's local philanthropy? 

One can adopt dogs, cats, or kittens (up to 6 months old). In addition, one can donate to the animal sanctuary, and this will support the animals. Lastly, one can volunteer to raise awareness.

What are the responsibilities of the fundraising chairs? 

They need to meet up with the secretary to book tables at Marketplace, Bartle, or Union. 

They need to assign shifts to sisters after creating a master schedule.

Promote event throughout the week.

Past events have been car washes, Christmas card sales, and Founder's Day celebration.

How are the requirements for Community Service established?

The hours credits are equal to the number of hours volunteered multiplied by the number of sisters at the event, all divided by 50% of the total active house.

Why do you think Kappa Phi Lambda specifically chose this as their national philanthropy?

We believe that Kappa Phi Lambda chose CARE as their national philanthropy because they focus on Service, Equality, and Diversity, which are three things that Kappa Phi Lambda always stresses the importance of.

CARE focuses on putting women and girls in the center because they know that they cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and opportunities.

They also focus on diversity, in which the embrace differences, including a variety of voices, and joining together to solve complex world problems.

Where do the donations that Alpha Chapter's local philanthropy receives specifically go to?

The donations that they receive will be used to help pay for veterinary care, medicine, food, bedding and cleaning supplies for the animals there. All of their volunteer workforces ensures that every penny goes towards the care of animals.

What are some monetary goals of fundraising chairs? 

Their goal is to raise $2,000-$3,000 per semester for the chapter.

Philanthropy chairs help to raise funds for a certain cause, while fundraising chairs help raise funds for the chapter.

What are the semester requirements for Community Service?

The requirements for this semester are 15 hours of service for chapters.

Events must have at least 3 active sisters to be considered.

There are no minimum number of events but the service chair should motivate sisters to do more because it is a pillar that often gets overlooked.

Kars 4 Kids. This is a nonprofit donation organization to fun educational and recreational programs for youth.
