Marketing roadmap: if you could build out your ideal team, what would it look like? What kind of team would it take to support 100 private marketplaces and Supply?

I've only been here three weeks.

100

We've seen a lot of marketplaces churn and/or not have the inventory for consistent listings. Is there such a thing as too many private marketplaces? And do we need to set better rules or expectations for our private marketplace sellers?

The growth will continue forever.

In the EU, sustainability is a huge topic. How should we incorporate "sustainability" into our solution and/or marketing?

Related question, why do the Brits seem to add an extra U in every word?

In sustainability, Europe is going to lead the way, much as it has in boozing, tobacco use and holidays.

We’ve had a lot of Leadership changes and most of us don’t interact with our Leadership team. Are there plans for you to visit all the B-Stock offices in 2020?

Yes, I plan to visit all the offices in 2020.

200

What is the hardest thing we make our big buyers do to be successful at B-Stock?

The Tiki Bar

I've only been here three weeks.

We've been growing really quickly for 10 years. Why do we need a dedicated Growth team?

The world's biggest companies need a bit of extra help. We put our biggest guy on it.

Who approves Gershon's expense reports and what is the "dispute rate"?

Howard. And the dispute rate is close to Gazelle.

300

As we add leaders to the team, that should give you more bandwidth. Are there specific things you're going to focus on to help the company?

Barbecue

300

From a mobile perspective, what solutions or services would you recommend we adopt in 2020?

If it makes us the "easy button", we will definitely consider it, whether through partners or if I have to do it myself.

300

We talk a lot about marketing and buyers. What about marketing to the many thousands of sellers who aren't on B-Stock?

See previous answer.

300

Who is the dream seller you want to launch on B-Stock in 2020?

Apple

300

We enjoy a flexible and convenient work culture, where we can work from home or remotely when necessary. What's the right balance between "WFH" and "NIO" (never in office)?

(Any dodgy, non-answer will suffice here.)

400

You've been at this for more than 10 years. What keeps you going? Do you have the energy to lead us through this next phase?

I have the strength of ten men. I am never going away.

400

Our big mobile sellers have gotten quite significant relative to the rest our business. Do you ever worry about customer concentration?

That is a stupid question. Do not talk to me.

400

New buyers vs nurturing current buyers? 80% of our registered buyers aren't active. Has there been any thought of empowering the already-registered folks. You know, water the grass we have?

I've only been here for three weeks.

400

Over the last year, we were successful in creating vertical-centric AM teams, specifically for mobile and apparel. Do you foresee more category specific teams that cover specific accounts? And could other departments (e.g. marketing) benefit from building out their teams that way?

Question is too wordy to merit a response.

400

Where do you think we are this year compared to last year at this time? Do you think we are doing a good job tackling the growing pains?

We are at the Green Valley Ranch this year, which compared to last year at this time, is more or less the same.

500

Predict what you're going to say at next year's EOY event. What do you believe success will look like?

Next year, I will say that we hit $1 billion in 200 days.

(Also acceptable: I will use the same slides from this year.)

500

From a grooming perspective, what solutions or services would you recommend we adopt in 2020?

Do not talk to me.

500

Between B-Stock and B-Stock Sourcing and B-Stock Supply-- it's a little confusing. Has there been talk about trying to consolidate or better define our brand?

I've only been here for three weeks.

Does Boston consider us to be more of a services company than a technology company?

(uncomfortable silence)

500

There is a concern amongst many of us regarding the lack of diversity and, specifically, women in leadership and board roles at B-Stock. What are we doing to fix that?

We are painfully aware of the lack of diversity at the leadership level of B-Stock. In all of our searches, we are making a concerted effort to cast as wide and diverse net as possible. At the end of the day, we are still focused on hiring the best talent we can find, so if that means we have to be patient, we will.
