Attendance/Truancy
When a student is late for a class or other school period as defined by the school.
What is Tardy?
It is the responsibility of this group to consistently and impartially enforce the rules and regulations of the school and classroom while protecting the constitutional due process rights of the students.
What is all school personnel? (Including cafeteria, custodial, maintenance, instructional assistants & office staff).
This must be provided for any student who does not meet proficiency standards as established by the state and district LEA.
What is intervention?
Field trips are an extension of this.

These require a written note from the parent/guardian explaining what they are. (This note should be received within 3 days of these.)
What are all absences?
This applies to all facets of student behavior before, during and after school hours (including but not limited to bus stops, dances, and field trips)
What is the Code of Conduct?
smaller class sizes, modified instructional programs, extended learning opportunities, tutorial sessions, assignments, opportunities for parental involvement
What are examples of intervention?
Overnight and/or out-of-state field trips must have the initial approval of this person or his/her designee prior to any notice to students, parents or the community.

What are Mandatory Workday-Parent/Teacher Conferences?
All absences, excused or unexcused, whether they have been made up or not, count towards this.
What is attendance eligibility for athletic participation?
Include, but not limited to: verbal warnings, detention, loss of recess, assignment of writing a reflective summary of their behavior, conference with the teacher and/or principal, written note to parent/guardians, phone call to parents/guardians, parent - teacher conferences, and/or a consequence in our school policy.
What are disciplinary actions instructional assistants, substitutes and/or teachers can take to maintain an environment suitable for an orderly learning process?
Session Law 2015-46 removed the State legal requirement for developing these for individual students, however, it does not prohibit the creation of a plan for identified students at risk of academic failure or any other student in need.
What is a PEP (Personal Education Plan)?
Students must have this from their parents in order to participate in each specific field trip.

What is the GCS grade scale for grades 3-12?

What are excused absences?
It is used as a means to improve student achievement through reinforcement and to hold students accountable for learning outside the classroom. It should be focused on reading, writing, vocabulary enrichment and/or math facts practice and it is a factor considered when being promoted to the next grade level.

What are components of a PEP?

Each field trip proposal must include assurances that no student is denied the opportunity to participate because of this.

Students shall not engage in minor incidents of hitting, biting, shoving, kicking, spitting, throwing objects, or other similar offenses toward a student or an adult.

What is Rule 18, Incidents of Aggressive Physical Action and the range of Elementary and Middle School Consequences?
Immediately upon returning to school, students have two days for each day they were absent to do this.
What is make-up all work (assignments, tests, projects, etc.)?
Responsible for distributing the Student Handbook (Code of Conduct) to all students and verifying, in writing, the Code's distribution and discussion.
Who are teachers?
If a student has been referred to the principal for discipline 2 or more times, that student may be referred by the teacher to this team.
What is IST (Intervention Support Team)?
Safety, transportation, school lunches, liability, supervision, time away from school and experiences.
What is planning?
(What happens before, during, and after the field trip)
Lockers, desks, and other school property remain at all times the property of the Board and shall be subject to this at the discretion of the Superintendent or his designee.
