"Paschal" is Hebrew for "Passover." The historical event that occurred at the original Passover.
What is God, through Moses, commanded the Hebrew people to sacrifice a lamb and mark their doors with its blood. That night, the firstborn in every home in Egypt died, except those in homes with the blood spattered on their doorways. Pharoah then finally freed God's people from slavery in Egypt?

The message of the most basic version of the Gospel is, God created us to be in loving communion with Him for all eternity, but sin alienates us from Him, so He sent His Son Jesus to suffer and die to restore us into right relationship with Him. Jesus established the Church and through the Sacraments we receive a share in the very life of God.
