This is found at the front of most Non Fiction books and gives you the 'plan' of what you will read about in the rest of the book.

Should I give a book that I have borrowed from the library to my friend to read, before I return it to the library?
Why? Why Not?
No
Because the book is checked out in your name and if your friend loses it, you are responsible for paying for it, NOT your friend.
You should return the book to the library first and your friend can then check it out in their name.

*Ask a friend for a book recommendation.

*Think of something that you are passionate about and search on the catalog computer to see if the library has a great book about your interest.

Because other people are trying to find a book to check out, other people are already reading and there may be classes in the senior library that you will be disturbing by talking with your friends.
When you have checked out a book, you should find another one to read and sit down quietly to read it.

When it is time to check out new library books, show Ms. Gehad your current library book and ask her if she can renew it for one more week.

Following these steps will help me work out whether the book is too easy, just right or too hard for me.
THE FIVE FINGER RULE!
Open your book to a random page. Start reading that page and every time that there is a word you don't know, put up one finger. If you only have TWO or THREE fingers up at the end of the page, the book is 'just right' for you.
Explain why you can start reading from chapter 7 in a non fiction book, but not start reading from chapter 7 in a fiction book.
In a non fiction book, each chapter speaks about a different topic. The chapters do not build on one another as they do in a fiction book.
