Danny Glover
This famous author was born in Missouri and moved to San Francisco when she was 13. She was active in the Civil Rights Movement and worked with MLK and and Malcolm X. Her work in literature earned her over 50 honorary degrees from colleges across the U.S and the Presidential Medal of Honor during the Obama Administration in 2010.
Maya Angelou
This famous political activist was the first Latina inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame, is credited for originating the phrase, “Si, se puede!”, and received her Associate’s Degree from San Joaquin Delta Community College in Stockton.
