Between these years, there was such a massive increase in vaping THC that it was the second biggest jump of any substance use in the history of NIH's teen drug use survey (which started in 1975!).
HINT: the format for this answer will be two consecutive years (e.g. 1950-1951).
2018-2019. This means that more teens tried vaping THC over the course of that year than teens have ever (since 1975, at least) tried another substance.
What is the most significant way that opiate abuse negatively impacts the development of teen brains?
It reduces your white matter. This is the largest, deepest part of the brain. It connects areas of your brain to each other as well as to other parts of your body (e.g. your spinal cord). When it breaks down, these messages are unable to be sent as efficiently, causing issues with problem-solving, attention, mood, physical coordination, and memory.
In this one year period, the number of teens who vaped nicotine increased so significantly that it was the largest jump of any substance use in the history of the NIH's teen drug use survey (which started in 1975!).
HINT: the format of your answer should be two consecutive years (e.g. 1950-1951)
