Ursula begins the movie as the "evil" character who wants to take over the sea. She turns Ariel into a human, but takes away her voice. She continues to do evil things to stop Ariel from marrying Eric. In the end, she is killed by Eric who stops her from trying to turn Ariel into a soul of the sea (killing her). She fights for her evil purpose until the very end.
