Italy started on the side of the triple Alliance then they changed to be a part of the triple entente.

Limiting the amount of goods that people can buy usually during wartime. Ehen goods are in short supply.
Zimmerman Note
Officials recover a note from Germany to Mexico. It states that if Mexico forms an alliance with Germany, after the war is complete, Germany will help Mexico gain land back from the US that they have lost over the years.
Why is it called the total war?
Because all resources were put towards the war, people did everything for the war.

There was a massive destruction to all the countries involved.
Many casualties, 37 million dead!
