He had to show that it was not due to weakness (sickness) and He had to die publicly in order to show His incorruptible resurrected body to reveal Himself as the Word of God.
Why death on the cross? Give 3 reasons
1. Cursed death to bear the curse on our behalf, 2. arms outstretched to 'draw all people to himself', 3. lifted up to open the way up to heaven for us
Why did Christ rise after exactly 3 days?
Long enough to show that He actually died (not just hiding away) and not too long that people forget about the incident

Death is shown defeated by young and old, everyone now despises it and is not afraid.
