Aaronic Priesthood
Worthy young men may have the Aaronic Priesthood conferred upon them beginning in January of the year they turn 12.
Deacon
The Church’s first article of faith states, “We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.”
Godhead
The Savior of the world and the Son of Heavenly Father. He is our Redeemer. Each of these titles points to the truth that ____ ____is the only way by which we can return to live with our Heavenly Father.

Millennium
A man who has been ordained and set apart as the presiding high priest for a ward, or congregation. He has overall responsibility for ministering the temporal and spiritual affairs of the congregation.
Bishop
A book of scripture containing revelations from the Lord to the Prophet Joseph Smith and to a few other latter-day prophets. It is unique in scripture because it is not a translation of ancient documents.
Doctrine & Covenants
The divine help or strength extended to us through the Atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Grace
The divine energy, power, or influence that proceeds from God through Christ and gives life and light to all things. The ____ __ ____ influences people for good and prepares them to receive the Holy Ghost.
Light of Christ
A sacred, formal act or ceremony performed by the authority of the priesthood.
Ordinance
The highest of the three degrees or kingdoms of glory in heaven. Those who inherit this kingdom dwell in the presence of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
Celestial Kingdom
Members of the Church have been counseled for many years to be prepared for adversity. Preparation, both spiritual and temporal, can dispel fear. With the guidance of Church leaders, individuals and families should prepare to be self-reliant in times of personal and widespread tragedy.
Emergency Preparedness
A feeling of appreciation and thankfulness for blessings or benefits we have received.
Gratitude
He was given a divine mission as a prophet of God. Through him, the Lord accomplished a great and marvelous work that included bringing forth the Book of Mormon, restoring the priesthood, revealing precious gospel truths, organizing the true Church of Jesus Christ, and establishing temple work.
Joseph Smith
Christlike caring for others. It is motivated by our desire to follow the commandment to love our neighbor and includes serving people out of concern for their spiritual and temporal well-being.
Ministering
The Book of Mormon came into the world through a series of miraculous events. Much can be known about the coming forth of the English text of the Book of Mormon through a careful study of statements made by Joseph Smith, his scribes, and others closely.
Book of Mormon Translation
A religious ceremony administered in temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is available to adult Church members who are prepared for this sacred experience.
Endowment
A state of endless life beyond the power of death, which is obtained following the Resurrection.
Immortality
The procedure revealed by the Lord for performing many priesthood ordinances, such as confirmation, ordination, setting members apart to serve in callings, administering to the sick, and giving other priesthood blessings. Those having the proper priesthood authority place their hands upon the head of the person receiving the ordinance.
Laying on of Hands
Writings belonging to the Apostolic age, selected by the Church and regarded as having the same sanctity and authority as the Jewish scriptures.
New Testament
Among the promises made to Abraham were the following:
His posterity would be numerous (see Genesis 17:5–6; Abraham 2:9; 3:14).
His seed, or descendants, would receive the gospel and bear the priesthood (see Abraham 2:9).
Through the ministry of his seed, “all the families of the earth [would] be blessed, even with the blessings of the Gospel, which are the blessings of salvation, even of life eternal” (Abraham 2:11).
Abrahamic Covenant
Discovering and learning more about our family members and gathering and preserving information about them. It is also performing saving ordinances for them in temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Family History
The Supreme Being in whom we believe, whom we worship, and to whom we pray. He is the ultimate Creator, Ruler, and Preserver of all things. He is perfect, has all power, and knows all things. He “has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s” (Doctrine and Covenants 130:22).
Heavenly Father

Kingdoms of Glory
The son of Lamech, the grandson of Methuselah, and the great-grandson of Enoch. The scriptures list him as the 10th patriarch from Adam (see Genesis 5; Moses 6:8–26; 8:5–13). ____ was ordained to the priesthood when he was 10 years old by his grandfather Methuselah (see Doctrine and Covenants 107:52). He was a person of integrity and did all that God commanded him (see Genesis 6:9, 22; Moses 8:27).
