Pencil Sharpening
You may sharpen your pencil any time, without permission, as long as you are being considerate of others (during a lesson, someone speaking)
Do NOT raise your hand and ask to sharpen your pencil if I have asked a question!
Partner work
Voice level one (only your partner should hear you), on task, in your assigned area
What if I lost/forgot/ran out of supplies?
There are supply bags under each desk. These may be used any time. Make sure you are respectful when using the supply bags and return all items.
Pencils may be borrowed and returned at the end of class.
Notebook paper and graph paper are accessible any time.
Hand signals
Crossed fingers is a non-verbal way to ask to use the restroom. This signal will also be used in the cafeteria.
When I need to gain everyone's attention, I will say "give me five". You will respond by stopping any conversations and putting your hand up.

Supplies needed in class every day
Something to write with, planner, Math ISN, water bottle (not metal, sport top or straw)
Math ISNs may be stored in the classroom. All other personal materials need to be stored in your backpack. Backpacks need to be hanging from the back of your chair, or under your desk, when possible. Backpacks should NOT block walkways in the classroom.
Independent work
Voice level zero (raise your hand to ask for help), on task, in your assigned area
End of class
Do not begin to pack up, until I have given directions to do so.
Gather ALL belongings, replace any borrowed materials, throw away trash.
Line up desks with tape at the front and the back.
Planners
Planners are filled out at the start of each week (Monday). It is important to build organizational habits now. Planners should be vied by your parents regularly.

Entering the classroom
Enter the room on a voice level zero, pick up Math ISN (if needed), get started on Math Review
On Mondays, write the weekly agenda in your planner
Grades
Your average in math will be made up of 50% daily grades and 50% major grades.
Daily grades will consist of activities/assignments in class and quizzes.
Major grades will usually be unit tests.
Nurse
I may tell you to wait or try some rest/water first. The nurse cannot fix everything.
Nurse passes are located in the "Nurse" drawer.
Restroom and water
You may not use the restroom during Math Review or during a lesson.
You will be able to use the restroom once per class period.

Turning in work
Make sure your name is on your paper!
There are 3 turn in trays for each class period. Look for your class period label (1st: Hernandez HR, 2nd: Cockshott HR, 3rd: Ramsey HR). I will give instructions with the color of tray, when it is time to turn in an assignment.
Voice levels
Voice levels are posted with the CHAMPS expectations.
Voice level one means that only your shoulder partner should be able to hear you.
Electronics/phones
Phones and electronics need to be turned off before entering Collins.
The only time you should be using a phone or an electronic devise is with teacher permission and for academic/school appropriate uses.
Absolutely NO social media.

Absent
It is your responsibility to get missed assignments when you return. You will have up to 3 days to complete missed assignments.
Assignments cannot always be provided prior to an absence.
Exiting the classroom
Before exiting the classroom and entering the hallway, I will ask for the class to be on a voice level of zero. Stand in line respectfully. Do not touch/hit/step on people in front of or behind you.
Hallway
You will walk in line on the right side of the hallway on the 3rd tile away from the wall.
Do not touch the wall or art.
We are always on a voice level of zero in the main hallway to be respectful of other classes that are learning.
