What's the first thing you have to do in the morning?
Drop off your materials, wash your hands and take attendance.
What are the three expectations for our school?
Be Safe, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful.
Can you talk whenever you are working?
Only if Mrs. Fernandez has given you permission to talk and as long as your voice level stays lower than the music.
How does Mrs. Fernandez track AR testing?
You show Mrs. Fernandez your score 70% or better and you can get a whole punch on your bookmark. When you get 5 in a row, you get a prize.
What happens if you break a rule?
You lose house points.
What's the procedure to go to the bathroom?
Use the hand signal to get Mrs. Fernandez attention and permission to go.
What are the areas of the school that we have expectations?
Hall, Library, Office, Bathroom, Cafeteria, and Playground.
Do you get to work with others?
Yes, as long as you stay on task.
What is the tower of books/40 book challenge?
Our goal is to read 40 books. The tower of books a visual tracker for the challenge.
How does Mrs. Fernandez keep track of points?
Participation app, observations, House Point board.
What do you do if your pencil needs to be sharpened?
Talk to the pencil monitor, trade your pencil for a sharpened one and at the end of the day get your pencil returned.
Do you earn anything for following the expectations?
House points, if another adult mentions it to me.

How do we line up during an emergency drill?
Alphabetical Order and quietly walk out to the field.
What should you do when Mrs. Fernandez says "Lumos"?
Eyes on Mrs. Fernandez, Freeze for 3 seconds, All in we win!
How do you turn in work?
Make sure your work has a header. Turn in your work into the correct bin at the inbox.
What is the expectation for the cafeteria?
Stay in line, keep your voice down, sit at our assigned table, pick up after yourself and wait to be dismissed.

Word Work, Read to Self, iReady, and Work on Writing.

How do you check out books in the classroom library?
See the librarian, check out a book under your name during the library times, return your book within 14 days or recheck it out.
What do you do if you have an issue on the playground?
Talk to a campus supervisor or talk to Mrs. Fernandez.
What is the expectation when working with a group?
Collaborate and Stay on task.
What things do you need to have in your table bin?
Glue, pens, highlighters, markers, color pencils, pencils, post-its, index cards, scissors and erasers.
